UPALAP · Australia
Terms of use
These terms describe how customers and independent providers use UPALAP. They do not exclude, restrict or modify rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. Please review these terms with Australian legal counsel before relying on them as a final legal agreement.
UPALAP’s role and liability
UPALAP provides a marketplace to arrange and pay for services performed by independent providers. Providers are responsible for their own work, qualifications, licences, conduct and insurance. UPALAP does not employ providers merely because they appear on the platform. To the extent permitted by law, UPALAP is not responsible for losses arising solely from an independent provider’s acts or omissions outside UPALAP’s own obligations. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits UPALAP’s liability where doing so would be unlawful, including applicable consumer guarantees, negligence or other non-excludable rights. The legal nature of each booking depends on the actual arrangements, not this label alone.
Bookings and prices
Customers select a service, location and time and review the full price in AUD, including GST where applicable and the $9.95 service fee, before paying. A booking is not an accepted job for a provider until payment succeeds and an eligible provider accepts it. Providers may only accept jobs within their approved service categories and registered suburbs.
Cancellations and consumer rights
For a change-of-mind cancellation at least 24 hours before the scheduled time, the booking amount is refunded in full. Within 24 hours, the booking amount less the $9.95 service fee is refunded. This policy does not limit remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law for services not provided with due care and skill, not fit for an agreed purpose, or not supplied within a reasonable time. Contact support if a service is faulty or not delivered; an appropriate remedy may differ from the change-of-mind policy.
Working safely
Customers must give accurate booking and access details, treat providers respectfully and keep start and completion codes private until the relevant stage of work. Providers must hold the qualifications, registrations, permits and insurance applicable to each service, follow workplace health and safety requirements, and provide services with due care and skill. A provider cannot begin work without the customer’s start PIN; completion is confirmed by the customer’s completion code or a staff-reviewed dispute.
Provider status and payment
Providers operate their own businesses and are responsible for their tax, GST status, equipment, applicable workplace obligations and legal permissions. UPALAP records provider payouts after a customer-confirmed completion or staff-approved dispute. Staff record manual bank transfers; a recorded payout is not evidence a transfer has been received. See provider compliance for category-specific requirements.
Disputes and contact
Raise booking, safety or payment concerns through your account messages or contact us. Providers may submit completion photographs for review when a customer does not provide a completion code. Do not upload photographs of people or private spaces without necessary permission. We will review disputes and applicable consumer guarantees rather than treating this policy as a waiver of statutory rights.
